A 123 of Baby Birds

A 123 of Baby Birds, will encourage children to learn to count the numbers 1-20, with the help of some very cute baby birds. Delightful illustrations are accompanied by a simple little rhyme, for example, 3 fluffy egrets with their sticky-up feathers, 4 baby owlets snuggled up together! 9 noisy toucans with their great big beaks, 10 delightful ducklings with their little webbed feet!
There are fun facts in the back, and some quirky little birds on a wire, which children can also count. I have included birds that young children will all know, such as ducklings and chickens, but also birds from all over the world, that children may never have heard of. In addition, I have also included a number of rare and unusual words, not generally heard in everyday conversation, in order to help build up vocabulary.
A 123 of Baby Birds would make a great gift set for a young child when paired with my ABC of Baby Animals.
Like all of my books in this baby animal series, they contain a large, easily read font and soft muted colours and sepia tones. This is especially for very young babies, who tend to turn away from bright colours, and also those children with special needs, who often can’t cope with brightly coloured illustrations. While the animal pictures are detailed and realistic, the pages are simple and uncluttered, again for young babies, but also for those with autism etc., who cannot cope with ‘busy’, cluttered pages.
